Bhalki Jhaatra

Jhaatra -  was celebrated at Infant Jesus Shrine Bhalki from 11 January 2008 to 13 January 2008 with all Joy, prayerful spirit and devotion.

ST. Mary High School Inauguration.

St. Mary High School, a new High School Building near Kendriya Vidhyalaya, Gulbarga was inaugurated and blessed by Most. Rev. Dr. Robert Michael Miranda - Bishop of our Diocese on 5th January 2008.

 

Inter Religious Prayer Meeting.

Prayer meeting

The New Year 2008 began at ‘Mother of Divine Grace Cathedral’, Gulbarga with an Inter-religious Prayer meeting for ‘Peace in Orissa’.

A good number of religious leaders of different faith, political leaders of various political parties and people in high office were present.

After the prayer, they addressed the gathering, condemned the communal forces and their attacks on question in Orissa and pledged to work for peace and communal Harmony. The dignitaries present were,

A children’s program, where 700 children from various mission centers and parishes of Bidar deanery- have gathered together at St. Joseph College Auditorium, Bidar on 13th & 14th of October 2007.

The motto, “Children Helping Children inspired by the Love of Jesus” has brought a new spirit of enthusiasm in all participants which was clearly seen throughout the program.

It was indeed a joyful celebration of participation in many activities to bring out and exhibit various talents.

The convener of the program was Fr. Sunil Andrade, asst Parish priest at Santpur.

Most. Rev. Robert Michael Miranda presided to this function. The Episcopal Vicar V. Rev. Fr. Santhosh Dias and many religious priests and sisters had gathered.

 

Eucharistic Procession at Bidar.

Eucharistic Procession

 

The Sacred Heart Church Bidar created history by

organizing the Eucharistic Procession on

26th November 2007. The procession began at 4:00

P.M at Sacred Heart Church Bidar. Passing through

the main roads of Bidar city, it reached Jeevan Prakash

hostel campus at Shahpur-Gate at 6:00 P.M.

Fr. Santhosh Dias – the Episcopal Vicar, preached a

meaningful homily in the local style. The Bishop,

Most. Rev. Dr. Robert. M. Miranda presided at the

Eucharistic celebration and the procession.

The faithful, the priests and the sisters in good number

participated devoutly in the Eucharistic procession and

received the benediction.

Towards the end, Fr. Praveen Martis, the parish priest

of Sacred Heart Church , Bidar thanked the Bishop and

the Episcopal Vicar and all the participants for their

active co-operation and participation.

 

Inauguration and blessing of Divya Jyothi HighSchool, New Building at Bhalki.

His Lordship Robert Michael Miranda blessed and inaugurated Divya Jyothi High school at Bhalki on 7th of December 2007. This School building has been donated by the agency, anos Unidas.

Rev Fr. Ronald Lobo, the correspondent of the high school was present. A few dignitaries along with parents and children. The high school was started in the year 2007 June. Around 40 children from rural area are studying there.

 

Jesus Youth have been active in Bidar and

Gulbarga since the past 2-3 years. Many of

our youngsters have been touched by Jesus

Youth ministry and have given Jesus the first

place in their life. It is a matter of joy that

five of our youth from Yesu Kristhalaya Mission,

Ujini: Abraham, Bhagvantkumar,

Mahadev, Kanthamma, and Champavathi

having completed Jesus Youth training for

voluntary service have volunteered themselves

for one year service in Jesus Youth

Movement. They are placed at Bellary and

Bangalore . We congratulate them and pray for their fruitful ministry.

 

 

Sr. Laura, Sisters of Charity,

Sr. Laura

Arogya Matha Ashram,

Bhalki, has completed 50 years of committed

service in Religious Life. Her Golden Jubilee

Celebration was held at their Provincialate in

Dharwad on 14th December 2007. Most Rev. Robert

Miranda, Bishop of Gulbarga, offered the Thanksgiving

Eucharist along with several priests. A good

number of sisters of her congregation and close

relatives were present. Sr. Laura, presently offering

her services as Headmistress of Divya Jyothi High

School, Bhalki, is known for her dedication and zeal

for the mission and love for the poor.

Sr. Jyothi

made her first Profession in

Religious Life on Dec 9th 2007. Jyothi,

d/o Halappa and Tejamma hails from Yesu

Christhalaya- Ujini Mission Centre. We pray

that she may remain faithful to her

commitment and become an Example and

Inspiration to our young boys and girls. Hearty

Congratulations to her.
